Every thing we do to conserve resources and reduce waste, no matter how small can have an impact.

We are proud to be an Environmental Partner with the Vermont Small Business Development Center. As an Environmental Partner, our we seek environmental quality improvements throughout our operations. We believe it is our responsibility to promote environmental stewardship as part of our business objectives. As we improve resource efficiency, materials management and other areas of our operation we seek to improve environmental quality.

We are actively working to maintain the "Environmental Partner" standards promoted by Vermont Small Business Development Center and the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources. We are committed to striving for environmental excellence and to serving as an example for other businesses and the community.

Who says its not easy being green?

We work hard everyday to find ways to reduce our environmental impact. Recycling, composting and the 5th year of a 5 year plan designed to improve the energy efficiency of our building...

Beyond cosmetic restoration, our goal is to improve the overall energy efficiency of the building – in short – reduce our carbon footprint. Over the last 5 years we have embarked on an ambitious energy saving program consisting of:
Installation of high efficiency boilers
Foam insulation around the building foundation
Exterior door replacement
Ongoing window replacement program
Room by room insulation upgrades
‘Zoning’ the heat to give each room individual thermostats

Over the last 5 years we have reduced the fuel consumption of this building by 50%. Which amounts to a reduction of 633,450 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions. That’s pretty good, but we cant stop there…

EAT LOCAL FOOD...Our Restaurant is dedicated to using local products and supporting local farms. This simple effort reduces fuel consumption in transportation, minimizes packaging required and supports the local ecomony - not to mention the food tastes better.

ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS...We ask all our suppliers about their environmental practices - we try to work with suppliers that follow sound policies
